WWE BRAND EXTENSION 2.0

I enjoyed the early days of the initial brand extension. RAW was good, but Smackdown! was a bit better initially for me. Undertaker was the cornerstone, Rey Mysterio was exclusive, and many levels of stardom being reached by many performers. Top names like John Cena, Brock Lesner, Edge and Eddie Guerrero. But, also guys like Jamie Noble and even Matt Hardy's star shined a little brighter (I was a MFer back then haha). It really held its own, and really didn't feel like a taped show most times.
But, that was the early portion of the split. It slowly and simply outright obvious that RAW was their A-Show, and Smackdown! the B. If someone was really doing well on SD!, they were heading over to RAW at some point whether via the draft, a trade, or something. It made for some great moments and stories, like when Benoit won the Rumble and opted to go after the WWE World Championship on RAW at Wrestlemania XX. But, it general it only made Smackdown! fall further.
Even after the brand extension was dissolved, Smackdown! was almost viewed by the fans, as top WCW names looked at Thunder, a joke. It was pretty much a guarantee every episode of Smackdown! would consist of highlights from RAW, a minimum of four men in the ring as to inspire Teddy Long to make a tag-team match in some fashion. Sure, it was nice to see all the talent get on the show, as television is still television, but product wise it was just stagnant.

Here we are now in 2016 and about to enter another brand extension. This time around, both shows will be live every week. Evening the playing field. And they keep pushing that each show will have its own unique set of superstars. Which is making me wonder if we will see all the indy guys Triple H has brought in on one show, and Vince's "usual" on the other. Or if perhaps Smackdown! is possible another test for Triple H after the success of everything he has accomplished with both NXT and the performance center. Smackdown! going live just has me curious. After all this time, and clamoring about the cost to run a live show I am left wondering "why?".
Regardless of the why's, I am really looking forward to this. Other questions that come up are more about the products. The thriving Women's Division needs more room to showcase the superstars beyond the WWE Womens Championship and its holder. Will we see all the female talent on one show with more room, or will they be spread over both with the Champion bouncing back and forth. Title picture on one, while a separate story takes place on the other? If they stick to the current format of one story, it hasn't really changed beyond the title name. Too much talent sitting on the sidelines, and some ready to come up from NXT. Speaking of titles, it is safe to say that the WWE Intercontinental and WWE United States Championships will be separate. But, what of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and WWE Tag Team Championships? Will there be two separate titles like the initial brand extension? If they were to split them like before, this time however I wouldn't go WWE and World titles. I would perhaps go RAW World Champion and Smackdown! World Champion.
Splitting all of the titles would help avoid there appearing to be an A or B show, if perhaps more people on RAW are "over" than on Smackdown! or if it is almost blatantly obvious who will be winning the title match. But, this also opens the door to perhaps have John Cena on one, and Roman Reigns on the other and it is simply two live squash shows.
Another thing that was great in the early days of the initial brand extension was the General Managers. The days of Stephanie McMahon, Eric Bischoff, and Paul Heyman were entertaining and added to each shows quality. It became lame and clear that the Smackdown! GM was always the runner-up given they were running the B-Show. Will we see McMahon V McMahon? Shane V Stephanie? Or will we see someone new or someone like Bischoff return to the roll? Hoping it isn't something lame like the Anonymous or majority of the Celebrity Guest General Managers (some were good when you knew they were legit fans too).
And what of NXT? Rumors are simply rumors, but at times they turn out to be true. Rumor has NXT being split as well. This is something I am hoping won't happen. Having NXT be one show that is the "farm system" for both RAW and Smackdown! adds to the "surprise" when call-ups happen. Even if we know someone is being called up to the main rosters, we won't know which one for sure until it happens.

Guess we will find out most things come July 19th on the now live Smackdown!. Being Canadian I need to make sure that Smackdown! will be aired live every Tuesday, and not on Wednesday or something. In a perfect world RAW and Smackdown! would air on the WWE Network, but Vince makes way too much money from the shows to be doing that anytime soon, if ever.

THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT

It is a theory that makes one want to both test and avoid. Do we want to see if it is true? Sure, there are a lot of things we think we should go back and change. Do we want to risk making something even worse? No, because then what was the point? It applies to everything, including professional wrestling and sports entertainment. Both good and bad in nature. Here are some that come to mind...

Madison Square Garden Curtain Call
Some loved this, mainly fans, but it was still something that has even bigger ramifications if changed in any way. Obviously if it didn't happen, but if say, Sean Waltman had been there, then he likely would have been the guy to take all the heat. Hall and Nash were gone, HBK the champ, clearly had plans for Triple H to win the King Of The Ring. If that hadn't had been taken away, then it wouldn't have been given to Stone Cold. Which we all know, King Of The Ring that year was where "Austin 3:16 Says I Just Whooped Your Ass" was born. Could it have happened at another time? Maybe, but would it have been the same if he hadn't just beat Jake "The Snake" Roberts, who was thumpin' the bible as part of his gimmick at the time, for the crown? It was too perfect to even think of touching. Austin was over, and rising, but that moment solidified everything. I guess the Kliq haters can be grateful if a Stone Cold Steve Austin fan. What? I said thank you Hall, Nash, HBK, and Trips for being above the business at that time, and Waltman for being in rehab instead of being there haha

Eric Bischoff, Ted Turner, & Black Saturday
This involves two separate instances, but I think that without them both, The Monday Night War doesn't happen or just not the way it did. First, Black Saturday was the day WWE (then WWF) replaced Georgia Championship Wrestling on Turner's TBS. How this sparked RAW V Nitro, was that Ted initially refused Vince's offer, and Vinnie Mac went and simply bought a floundering (financially) GCW. Which now allowed him to air WWE. Vince mainly used clip from his shows on opposing network, USA, on his TBS show. Because of this, and the non-WWE GCW fans, as well as Gordon Solie fans lead to horrendous ratings. Combine the tactics and the outcome, Ted Turner wasn't too pleased to say the least. Long story short Vince sold GCW to Jim Crockett, who later would have to sell to Turner. Enter WCW. And all of this initiated the McMahon/Turner rivalry that feuled the wars. How does Bischoff play into this? It was Ted's money, but it was Eric's vision and direction (what direction there was) that kicked WWE's butts for a long time. This could have not happened if things prior hadn't played out the way that they did. Most of us have seen the Easy E audition for WWE from back in the day. For those unaware, Vince had Eric interview a broom for his audition. Which I get, as the guy holding the mic may have to save an interview, or to see how they initiate things (look at Macho and Mean Gene, Randy was great, but Okerlund would make it that much better). Regardless of the why, Eric apparently left with a chip on his shoulder. What if things were different? An actual person to interview, or if he got the position? Would Eric have had that drive without the anger, and who would've replaced him had he been in WWE at the time? Would they have done better or worse? It is why I put them together. Change anything here, and our favorite era is gone or altered.

Spoiler Report Gone Awry
Wasn't sure what to call this one, didn't want to use the quote that caused the clicks, and didn't want to put the heat on the guy who had to say it (Tony Schiavone). So, it is called what it is because it was a common occurrence, but backfired badly at this moment. It is a moment that in this regard have to wonder "what if...?". For example, what if it had been someone else who had won the WWE Championship? That could have and maybe did cause the hardcore and pre-Hogan WCW fans to turn over and see Mick Foley a former "WCW guy" win the competitions main prize. Would someone else have caused so many people to change channels? Even if it was just about the title changing hands, what if it hadn't? Would there have been something else to take place that caused the same reaction? It was literally the moment that turned the tide in the ratings battle. Could something have triggered this further down the road? It was unlikely given the misdirection that came to the surface, but then again might not have exposed the holes leading to further disasters, aka Russo. Would AOL Time Warner have been so quick to sell had it been the success it was? They say Vince McMahon would never have given up, but that is also after having not to. Who's to say that if this moment is taken away that Vince wouldn't have had a choice at some point?

The Third Man Was Sting
Even those involved said that it wouldn't have worked the same way it did with Hogan. We won't know really, we kind of but still don't know that it likely wouldn't have worked at all for Hulk who's popularity was pointing to the exit. Would he have returned to WWE and gotten the reception he did in 2002? Or would he have been forced into retirement. I can't envision Hogan doing anything similar to what Sting did at that time. Which is another big question, what about Sting? He tends to get lost in all of this when talking about the nWo and how Hogan's turn is what lit the fuse to the rocket. If it was Sting would there have not been The Crow version that also reignited his career? Which wasn't in bad shape, but it sky rocketed his career to an even higher level. Or would it have come to be, but different? Scott Hall was the one to suggest it to Sting, but again the question, success or failure? Hogan's "darkside" lameness just prior to the nWo turn, was exactly that, lame. Would that have happened to Sting turning heel at that point in time? Wolfpac Sting was okay for a minute, but never really meshed with the nWo vibe whether red or white.

That's what came to mind at this moment, there is more I am sure. Even if I had to really reach for a what if and the butterfly effect that would follow. Examples like "What if Hogan's back gave out at Wrestlemania 3?" or a simple yet dark "What if one of the promoters who had their territory become obsolete actually attempted and succeeded in killing Vince McMahon?" It is a crazy business both in and out of the ring. Part of why we love it so much I guess haha Stay Nerdy!

WRESTLING WHAT IF's VOL. II

Another installment of "Wrestling What If's..." (you can find Volume I...HERE ). Another chance to think of what could or might have been. In early installments we will be trying to avoid direct  focus on either the "Attitude Era"/"Monday Night Wars" or deaths. Some things will lead into those, but in the beginning it is other stuff that could have reshaped the industry.

What If...Bret "Hitman" Hart Hadn't Been Kicked By Goldberg?
Yes, it is a bit weird to wonder that, but watching him on WWE Network makes it hard to not wonder. It was the concussion from the kick that initially ended Bret's career, the stroke made it concrete. Sure, he had the match with Vince, and has done some spots of physicality, but not the Hitman he'd be if not for that kick. Question are aplenty, would he have been able to "save" WCW? Not likely. Would he have ever been open to returning to WWE? Would something have still triggered Bret wanting to make peace in his life? If not, would we have seen a true Sharpshooter in TNA Wrestling? If so, how much better would his match against Vince would have been. And lets not forget a match between Bret and Shawn Michaels. At Wrestlemania. Ya. Ooooh or even Bret being a part of the former Streak held by Undertaker?

What If...Andre The Giant Was Never "Discovered"?
Another slightly weird one, but Andre's existence in professional wrestling/sports entertainment was more crucial than it appears. Wrestlemania III is a massive part of WWE's history and success. Big John Studd, One Man Gang, and other big men would have loved to fill Andre's spot, but as great as they may be, they would've failed. Andre was massive during his "undefeated" good guy days, both in size as well as in fans hearts during the 70's and very early 80's. His heel turn and sheer girth was even bigger leading up to the showdown with Hogan. Take away Andre, you take away that pivotal moment when Hogan body slammed him. All the others it would not have been as impressive and nor as big of impact. It sent Hogan's star power through the roof. So, no Andre where would the WWE and Hulk Hogan be? As successful? Less? And lets not forget about Big Show. The questions with him are would he have been a much bigger attraction, or would he have never even gotten into wrestling?

What If...Triple H Hadn't Torn His Quad In 2001?
A few things come to mind. First, how would he have played into the "Invasion" storyline? It is hard to say which side he would have chosen, given both his involvement with The Two-Man Power Trip with Stone Cold and his real life relationship with Stephanie McMahon. Would he have joined his wife while Austin stayed with WWE? Austin "wanted" to be a heel at that time (despite fans not allowing it. "What?" began at that time) so would he have turned on WWE and Triple H before jumping ship, or would Triple H have made the turn and Austin stayed with WWE. What would've happened with Angle? And even flashing forward to when he made his return there are questions. Would he have been built up to win the Rumble and then the WWE Undisputed Championship at Mania X-8? Would he have been in the mix when the first Undisputed Champion was crowned? Orrrr would he have some how been involved with the n.W.o. sooner than later (right before it "dissolved" after ironically Kevin Nash tearing his quad) as either a member or an opponent?

What If...The Steroid Scandal Never Happened?
Initially you are probably thinking, "Wouldn't What If Vince Lost? Be Better?". You would be both right and wrong at the same time. Initially I think Vince would just have paid a large sum and carried on, or if incarcerated it would have been Linda running things while Vince planned things out in jail while having meetings every week. But, what if it hadn't happened at all? Roid Rage is debatable, but the damage that steroids can cause when abused is pretty solid (injury recovery uses smaller doses, for shorter periods). If this trial hadn't happened there is a chance that there would not only be a lot more of the traditional "Vince Guys" (jacked up), but there's a chance there would be a lot more deaths. That list is already way too long. Would Hulk Hogan still be alive today if he hadn't stopped juicing back then (lost a lot of mass quickly, hoping the bulk now is natural), or others who have already passed have died much earlier? Yes, there may be some guys on the roster who are on the juice, but they are at least forced to try and hide it now. Not saying 'roids is what has killed so many wrestlers, but hard to say if it wasn't a factor in some.

That's it for now, again you can find previous installment(s)...HERE . Keep your eyes peeled for future installments of "Wrestling What If's...".

WRESTLING WHAT IF's VOL.I

"What If...?" was a favorite Marvel Comics title in my youth, and watching the WWE Network non-stop has forced me to apply this to the world of wrestling and sports entertainment. From outcomes, signings, to behind the scenes, backstage stuff there are almost endless possibilities in regards to what could have been or might have been if something was done different. Large to very small, the decisions and occurrences throughout the years have made impact.

What If...Vince McMahon Had Picked Turner Over USA Network?
Immediately you think of the Monday Night Wars. Rightfully so. There might not have been a war if Vince and Ted had continued to work together. Of course things could have soured later on and the two parted ways, but would there still have been a war? What would it have been like? And what would have become of Jim Crockett Promotions if this hadn't of happened? Someone else could have bought the company, then again, who's to say that something else wouldn't have happened that made for better business for Crockett? Would Eric Bischoff have been involved in this at all? The Butterfly Effect on this one decision (that was forced by Ted Turner) is pretty massive to say the least.

What If...Triple H Hadn't Married Stephanie?
This one is almost cliche. It doesn't mean things wouldn't have been effected. Triple H would have still been the icon he is. Zero argument here. The questions that arise are would Trips be in the position he is in now? Would Vince have seen the drive, knowledge, and work ethic Paul Levesque brings to the table? It is possible. It is also just as unlikely. So, how would the WWE look at the top of corporate? A simple answer would be that Stephanie simply took on more of the work load and filled her fathers shoes alone. She is a McMahon, and constantly referred to being just like her dad. The other options raise some questions though as well. Would Shane be involved in some fashion? It is his families company, and if Steph needed help he is likely the first name to pop into your head. Linda would be next possibly. Would she have left the company and pursued her political goals? Or would she have possibly stayed on to help with the transition (not that Vinnie Mac is going anywhere right now).

What If...Jeff Hadn't "Stolen" Karen From Kurt?
Almost as cliche as Triple H and Stephanie's  addition to all of this, but given the current state of things it belongs here. Why? First, would we have witnessed the great matches between Jeff Jarrett and Kurt Angle? Would they have been as good it they still happened? Possibly, but also possibly not. There is a good chance the real life situation is what made the matches that much more. Then of course there was the "repercussions" from the real life aspect of all of this. It was the true downfall of Jarrett in TNA. Most importantly, behind the scenes. There were almost legal ramifications from all of this. Sure, they are now married and even Kurt has moved on, but it did effect business. Would Dixie have been "more involved" if Jarrett wasn't in good with management, or was that inevitable? The "WWE" talent that TNA aquired during the time Double J was making most if not all the calls was done properly. Christian (Christian Cage) had a really good run in TNA, The Dudleys (Team 3D), Gail Kim, and Tara Vachon. Can't believe Dixie is allowing Jarrett back in, although only a "talent", in full GFW promotion mode. Even a "crossover" or "invasion" seems only to be smart on Jarrett's side. Dixie's not so much.

What If...Hulk Hogan Versus Ric Flair Happened At Wrestlemania?
An off the wall "what if...?", but curious as to what could have been with this one. There is always speculation as to why. Most likely of them being that the two sides couldn't come to an agreement on who should be put over. Regardless, what would have happened if they did? Would it have drawn massive numbers? If it did, then it would be safe to wonder this would have changed McMahon's outlook on how he approached the "youth movement. Which seems to be the reason Flair returned to WCW, and Hogan (amongst others) eventually followed suit. Would we have seen more of a mix of old and new? Instead of Macho Man Randy Savage behind the announce table, or Hogan being allowed out of his contract. Would we have possibly seen some epic showdowns between Savage and HBK? Come to think of it, the Butterfly Effect is pretty big here. Would this have meant WCW alum turned WWE legends like Stone Cold Steve Austin, Chris Jericho, amongst others, not have come over? More room to grow without Hogan and others atop the glass ceiling. What if it had bombed? Would WCW have acquired Hogan later on, or would they have possibly seen Hogan with less drawing power?

The list is truly endless, and we hadn't even touched anything that happened "during" the Monday Night Wars and the Attitude Era. Or even if a wrestlers life hadn't ended so early. Those will eventually make their way into the mix, but best to leave the deaths for when drawing a blank much later on.

BROCK RE-SIGNING IMPROVES MAIN EVENT

It is being reported that Brock Lesner has opted to stick around the squared circle, as opposed to returning to the octagon. Vince McMahon convinced to Brock to re-sign with WWE, after a lengthy and at times very heated negotiation period. Some will love this decision, while the rest will be against it., but either way the main event of Wrestlemania has instantly improved.

How so? Well, most would agree that having very little to no knowledge of the outcomes makes Wrestlemania that much better. If Brock Lesner had opted to return to mixed martial arts via the UFC, it would almost guarantee that Roman Reigns would be the winner and new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Almost, because this is still professional wrestling, and Lesner is still a literal beast. Now that he has decided to stay with WWE, the outcome of the Wrestlemania 31 main event is even less predictable. Sure, the safe bet would be for Roman Reigns become champion and have his first run as the face of the company. However, who's to say Brock doesn't retain. Rumors being rumors, say highly possible we see Brock Vs The Rock at Wrestlemania 32. Why not have that be for that WWE World Heavyweight Championship? Other rumors state that WWE is looking to put more focus on the mid card titles (US and IC). The reasoning for having Daniel Bryan and John Cena competing for them at Wrestlemania 31. With Lesner's part-time schedules, it allows for that to truly happen. Even a possible "cash in" by MITB briefcase holder, Seth Rollins, unpredictable. Not as to if he will try and cash in, as that is due to happen, but whether of not Seth successfully cashes in.

Another match that has improved due to changes, is Undertaker Vs Bray Wyatt. No streak, means less worry of ramifications of Wyatt being put over by The Phenom. With less that a week until Wrestlemania 31, we will soon see how all of this goes. The card is stacked like never before, can't wait to see it all unfold.

NO LESNER? NO PROBLEM!!

Rumors are running rampant after a heated argument between Vince McMahon and Brock Lesner, followed by an apparent "walk-off" by Brock Lesner before last weeks Monday Night Raw. Rumors are that the verbal engagement was over Lesner's next contract, and allowing Brock to attend UFC 184. Which as most know, Lesner attended, and sat with Dana White. There are even reports that despite all of this, Vince McMahon doesn't see a need for a back-up plan as WWE will sue Brock if he doesn't fulfill his contractual obligation. Although he may have said that, it would almost be safe to assume he's already thought of a plan B. There's always a plan B (ask Triple H).

So, let's assume that there is some real validity to all of this. Brock Lesner decides to not show up, or he does and is obviously not going to follow the plan. It could happen, the amount of money Brock could make from the publicity and a fight in the UFC (with Mir) could outweigh what Vince McMahon and the WWE could take away in court...

Whether he shows or not, Brock is stripped of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and subsequently "fired". That is either during the pre-show or at the start of Wrestlemania 31. The top prize in all of Sports Entertainment is vacant. Ironically, the night before "Macho Man" Randy Savage was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame. Savage captured the WWE Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania IV (4), in an elimination tournament to determine the champ. So, to further honor the memory of the late legend, it happens again. With the exception of Tag Team and Divas matches, every match is now apart of the tournament. IC and US titles on line, but also advance in the tournament. The winner of the 2nd Annual Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal will get a pass into the second round, similar to how Andre partook at Wrestlemania IV. The end result can still end up with Roman Reigns being victorious (if that is the true plan), and perhaps earn admiration for how he does it. Or whomever they choose. The list of people the fans would go nuts for is pretty long.

For some it is a good idea, for others it is a lousy one. But, to the detractors, it is at least something. This will likely be for not, as Vince generally gets his way no matter the cost (to him or others). The card is looking pretty stacked though, Sting/Triple H, Undertaker/Bray Wyatt, etc. Making it all for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship could make it all that much more meaningful. either way, can't wait to see how everything plays out on March 29th, 2015.

VINCE MCMAHON. IS IT TIME?

For quite a few years now, I have been reading both articles and comments on how Vince McMahon has lost touch with his audience and needs to either change or walk away from the empire that he built. Up until recently I could not see it, the aftermath of the Monday Night Wars was expected to be "not as good". There were also enough good, to outweigh the bad. It is entertainment, and that means everything is hit or miss.

With reports saying that it is Vince himself writing the promos for Roman Reigns, which have been pretty weak, it is causing me to see the "haters" points of view. And now am curious if Vinnie Mac has ever really been in tune with the fans since before the gimmick era became unwanted by the audience. The edgier "Attitude Era" was after all inspired by Paul Heyman's vision with ECW. And without it, would have lost the war to Ted Turner, Eric Bischoff, and WCW. And with Reigns, it is important for his promos to be up to par as he is being prepped for main event and championship status.
Then there are some of the choices made since the launch of the WWE Network. All of which were likely made simply to somehow boost sales of the network. Small things like stalled pushes, characters being squashed, Brock Lesner being WWE World Heavyweight Champion while being more of a showcase performer. To big things, like the aforementioned Lesner ending the Wrestlemania undefeated streak of the Undertaker. Which I had no real problem with, but the rumors were that Vince made the choice, and did so for the WWE Network.
It is even somewhat apparent that he still loves his muscular heroes, and giant villains (although the bad guys are at least not obese anymore). It could be safe to say that it is Triple H who is behind guys like Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins are in the forefront. Daniel Bryan had more to do with the fans. Although they are characters that I like, Roman Reigns and Ryback must be "Vince McMahon Guys". Big, muscular, and a bit weak on the mic. Although Reigns just needs a better script to better himself.

So, are we starting to see signs that it is time for Vince to pass complete control over to Stephanie and Paul (Triple H)? Is it long over due like many others have said? The one question is for sure, will he even know when it is time to step away? 2014 could have been an epic year, and it wasn't just the injuries that hindered that from happening. 2015 is already looking good with the late and beyond great Macho Man Randy Savage will be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame. The possibility of seeing Sting perform in a WWE ring on the grandest stage of them all, Wrestlemania. And now there is a strong rumor that the Undertaker could face Bray Wyatt at Wrestlemania.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Thanks to social media, we are usually able to find out why certain wrestlers had their "pushes" halted, or were released from the company. A more recent example would be Jack Swagger, who was riding high after winning the WWE World Championship a couple of years ago. And that was exactly the problem, Swagger was driving, was pulled over, and then it was discovered that he had been smoking marijuana and was driving under the influence. He wasn't "future endeavored" like other stars have had happen. The WWE simply ended his run with the title, and ceased his push. Swagger worked hard, and now has something better than a title, he has fans who chant on command "We The People!".
WWE.World_Wrestling_Entertainment
Some of these wrestlers, or sports entertainers if you will, may have had the reasons already stated and I missed it. Feel free to post comments below if you have the legitimate reason. Most of these performers will be more recent, as it is hard to think of anybody from the Attitude Era and back. As those eras consisted on Hulk Hogan who rarely went without the WWE Championship or being in the main event picture. Attitude Era there was Stone Cold, and when he was down, it was The Rock and Triple H (there were others, but they were the main go to guys).

Bray Wyatt
It feels as though things were purposely toned down. Bray Wyatt literally had "the whole world, in his hands", and packed arenas supporting and signing along. Then nothing. Sure the WWE Universe still provides the "fireflies", lighting up the arenas and adding to an already cool entrance. The speeches are still strange yet amazing, but they aren't fan inclusion type of thing he was doing before. Is the WWE trying to maintain Bray as a top heel, in a talent pool slightly heavy on the baby face side of things? Wyatt had a pretty good feud with the legendary Chris Jericho, but what really came from it? A feud perhaps that was better left for Wrestlemania. Like I said, the crowd is still there, smartphones lighting the crowd, just waiting for their chance to be involved again. When will we finally get to follow the buzzards that are hovering around championship gold?

Sheamus
Yes, he got injured and the titles are now unified making mid-card titles just as good in a sense. However, Sheamus seems to be completely out of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship picture. He's in the beginning phase of a feud with Cesaro, something I hope culminates at Wrestlemania 31, because it should be very good. But, with Brock Lesner holding the WWE WHC and Sheamus currently being a face, wouldn't it make sense for the two of them to square off at some point? It would be fresh, and interesting to see. Rumored to be a "Triple H guy" in the beginning, what happened?

Fandango
What started as a cheesy gimmick, actually began to work. With some crowd support, mainly during his entrance mind you, but support was there. He had a beautiful valet in Summer Ray. And then, he slowly seemed to just disappear from television. Was there an injury? Another issue like a failed drug test or scuffle backstage? Summer Ray seemed to actually progress her career further since the dance duo split up. What happened to Fandango?

Adam Rose
Almost everything about this character is geared for fan love, and fan involvement. His entrance doesn't get much more catchier. He had a catch phrase that the audience joined in on, "Don't Be A Lemon! Be A Rose Bud!". Rumors state that it was a simple case of Vince McMahon getting bored with the character, similar to how he supposedly feels about the Bo Dallas character. Whether or not this is true, not sure.

Damian Sandow
This is a situation that is similar to Triple H after the MSG Send-Off with fellow Kliq members Shawn Michaels, Scott Hall, and Kevin Nash. When he was "punished" and dropped to the bottom of the card to work his way up. Damian Sandow was a Money In The Bank winner, and a really good heal. Then, in an instant it was all gone. He became Santino Marella's replacement in a sense, filling he comedic role on the card. What makes him similar to Triple H, is that he hasn't let this stop him. Making the various characters, including his current role as The Miz's stunt double, quite entertaining. If he keeps this up, it will only be a matter of time before he is back in the mix at the top of the card. I just can't help but wonder what caused the sudden stop. It was
n't something bad enough to fire him over, but at times it feels as though it is intentionally trying to break him. Then again, WWE creative has had moments of "wtf" without being provoked before.

Zack Ryder
Not even a fan of The Long Island Iced-Z other than his "Woo, Woo, Woo! You Know It!", but one can't argue that he has quite the following. A fan base larger than some main eventers. And that was without any real push of any kind from the WWE. It appeared as though it was going to happen. Getting the main event "rub" from Cena. Mick Foley claims it was the lame storyline involving Ryder, Kelly Kelly (I think) and Kane. Regardless, the fans didn't really falter, yet he never appears in PPV's, doesn't even appear on Raw or Smackdown! And when he does, it on the losing end of things. Will he ever get another shot at glory?

Perhaps the reasons for these staled pushes have already been stated, but if not, it would be nice to know. Although it is a business where only hard facts (drug tests, crimes, etc) tell us the truth with both WWE and pro-wrestlers having a habit of bending and molding the truth.

GREAT MOMENTS THAT KIND OF RUINED WRESTLING

Perhaps "ruined" isn't the proper word to use, but on at least a miniscule level they have. Most of them weren't even really "the first", with them being regularly used story arcs and scenarios that simply turned into greatness based on the performers, the era, etc. None the less, here they are...

The Rockers Split-Up:
Even back then, it wasn't very rare for a tag-team to break-up, have their feud, and then either go their separate ways or reunite at some point. However, with The Rockers it was different. Namely due to the birth of HBK and the heights Shawn Michaels reached, combined with Marty Jannetty really going nowhere after their feud. Shawn putting Marty through the Barber Shop window is still one of the best moments in sports entertainment. However, ever since then it has been a foray of tag-teams that have done well together only for them to be split-up. The problem here is that we now immediately look for who will be the HBK and who will be the Jannetty. At times it seems as though WWE does it simply to try and find their next Heart Break Kid, while their tag-team division flounders. Of course there have been exceptions over the years, where the tag-team division is as big as the WWE title picture (ie Attitude Era), but it doesn't seem to last. Even with the Uso's and Goldust/Stardust, I find we wait for them to split and have a feud, both would be epic mind you, but why keep them all together and rebuild the division to a more stable manner?

Hollywood Hulk Hogan:
Possibly one of the biggest moments of not just the Monday Night Wars, but wrestling history. The immortal Hulk Hogan turned heel and joined Hall & Nash to form the n.W.o. It wasn't even the first time the Hulkster was a heel, having been one near the start of his career. How did this ruin wrestling? I can't help but wonder if we all wouldn't be craving a John Cena heel turn if this hadn't had happened. Sure, Cena's rise to the top came from a heel with great ability on the mic (rapping and not) that got over with fans. But, now Cena's face run has run its course with the mass majority (kids aren't as loud anymore), similar to Hogan right before his turn. John has said himself how all of those who boo now, will simply cheer when he turns. He's not wrong, but we did the same for Hogan at times during his Hollywood days, but for the most part we played along and booed him for his actions as a heel. Heck, the boos started to outweigh the cheers when the n.W.o. was beginning to be played out past its prime. To add to the internet speculation, all the red & yellow Cena has been wearing gives the Black & White's coming vibe.

Trish Stratus From Valet to Wrestler:
How could she have possibly ruined wrestling? Well, she didn't. Her greatness is what's caused WWE to ruin it. They seem to think they can turn any pretty model into a professional wrestler/sports entertainer. Now of course there are obvious exceptions to this conversation, with ladies being able to "go" in the squared circle. But, there always seem to be a few who don't belong, or at least don't belong on television at the time. Right now would namely be Eva Marie. She could turn out to be an amazing wrestler one day, but why is she in actual matches, especially televised ones right now? Couldn't her role on Divas be of a person training to becoming a wrestler? Perhaps acting as a valet, while she learns the in-ring. Womens matches can be botchy at times with inexperienced wrestlers like that. Not their fault, but their being green makes the division look bad. And one can't help but wonder if this would be the case if not for the success of Trish (and some others) making the transition so well.

Monday Night Wars:
Thanks to Eric Bischoff and Ted Turners money, WCW was whooping Vince McMahon and WWE's butts. To the point where Vince and company weren't far from going out of business. Sure there were countless moments during this time, but again Vince McMahon almost "lost". Not something he likes to do, I am sure. And because of this he's learned from his mistakes. Say goodbye to straight ship jumping between companies. All contracts are laced with no compete clauses, and law suit that would ensue likely would be a horrible business decision in the end. And lets face it, the usual 90 days doesn't cause as much impact upon a performers debut elsewhere. Say goodbye to wrestlers really being themselves or using own names (in most cases). WWE has everything on lock, with trademarks, etc. And kind of say goodbye to any chance of someone going head to head with WWE again. WCW eventually folded due to being to focused on what WWE was doing and trying to crush them. TNA showed that it wasn't ready, and perhaps a sign that nobody should really ever attempt to go head to head with WWE. At least, not until your truly at par with them. (and yes the pic is of Russo, looks good to me lol)

Like stated in the opening line, "ruined" is an improper word to use really. But, it seems as though they have had an impact on the wrestling world in some fashion. With every reaction there is an negative one, just in these cases they are truly small.

THE RAW THAT FOLLOWS WRESTLEMANIA

Almost always as good as Wrestlemania the night before, but on a much smaller scale. The first Raw that follows Mania is something fans eagerly tune into every year. it is the beginning of the fallout from the events of Wrestlemania (or Backlash as it once was referred to), as well as possible surprises that may be unveiled. From new or returning Superstars, or even explanations or shedding more light on the results of Wrestlemania.
Tonight's Monday Night Raw should be just that following the epic night before at Wrestlemania XXX. How will Bray Wyatt and his family react to the defeat by John Cena? Will they strike again or move onto their next victim? It is likely that the Wyatt/Cena feud will continue a bit longer, with Wyatt getting put over before the end. We will finally see what winning the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal means for the winner. Which of course, was Cesaro from the Real Americans. Obviously the win will add to the heat with tag partner Jack Swagger, but other than bragging rights, what does that giant trophy lead to if anything? Speaking of split-ups, will the much rumored break-up of The Shield begin to happen now that Wrestlemania is in the books? Although it has been great having a trio, having another skilled tag team helps boost the division that is looking to be on the verge of returning to the glory days.
Daniel Bryan finally won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. YES! But, how long will it last? It was speculated that Daniel Bryan's journey would culminate at Summerslam. Was the win perhaps a way of keeping the Wrestlemania 30 crowd in-check so to speak? Especially given that The Streak was conquered by The Beast that is Brock Lesner? Is Brock now set to reclaim the WWE World Heavyweight Championship? His first WWE Championship was when the titles were unified before, and then splitting them as he became a Smackdown! exclusive during the brand separation. Or will the beast incarnate take a step back for a bit after a Wrestlemania payday?
What about The Undertaker himself? Was that the last we've seen of The Phenom? I don't think so, you can catch my thoughts and prediction for The Undertaker HERE. It is hard to imagine that heavily rumored WWE debut of Sting will happen without at least a non-contact face-to-face confrontation between the two legends. Although, with the illustrious Streak now broken, it would be more difficult to predict a winner if they were to face off at Wrestlemania. Although this Dream Match doesn't necessarily need to take place on the grandest stage of them all. Summerslam has been presented as the summertime equivalent. And of course the PPV mentioned in the article that would almost be perfect as well (again check it out HERE).
Rumors have a certain VKM return tonight. And not the "Voodoo Kin Mafia" which was the New Age Outlaws moniker in TNA. Vince gets massive props for reportedly missing out on the main event last night in order to ride in the ambulance with The Undertaker. Who went to get a possible concussion and neck injury looked at after his battle with Brock Lesner. It was also nice to see #ThankYouTaker and #ThankYouUndertaker trending! No other superstar deserves our thanks more than The Undertaker.
Tonight's Raw is looking like it could be a great one after a successful Wrestlemania 30 last night. Hopefully it is and the road to Summerslam is just as awesome!

WHO'S NEXT?

It's happened. The WWE Network has launched. While many of Vince's fellow promoters and businessmen all seem to think this is a bad idea, none of them are willing to bet against Vinnie Mac. I can see how this benefits them from guaranteed PPV views equaling more endorsements and things like that, to collecting a bit off of things we've all watched for free for years now, etc. And even if it fails like the XFL did before, they simply take the hit and go back to being a money making juggernaut. Vince McMahon's greatness lies in his willingness to "try". Even when, sorry, especially when people say it won't work (see inaugural Wrestlemania, amongst other things).

With access to the WWE's libraries as well as all the companies that they've acquired over the years, mixed in with the age that we live in currently and the current success of superstars Goldust and the New Age Outlaws making a resurgence of sorts of the Attitude Era. I am left wondering who could we see in a WWE ring in the future? Whether it be in-ring or or a non-active role. What superstars of yesteryear will begin to make appearance upon the list of what is "trending" a la Twitter, Facebook or some other form of social media? There are plenty out there who can "still go" and simply haven't been back  in WWE for awhile or luckily didn't end up in TNA Wrestling at some point over the years. Of course there are also those who have, but may have been forgotten. If anything perhaps it will help some of them get into the WWE Hall Of Fame and/or sign a Legends contract with the WWE. Some seem to be getting work at the new WWE Performance Center as trainers, etc, even then, it is one step closer to being called back up.

Here's a list of possible stars who we could see again in a more current role in the WWE thanks to the WWE Network launching...

Goldberg
New fans and old fans alike will witness and rewitness "The Streak" in all of its glory. Which was pretty well done I must say, it was how it was ended that was a tad bit suspect. It did have to end at some point. Add this to the fact that there is still a "Goldberg" chant that happens when ever Ryback is out there. Will lay mostly in Goldberg's hands though, as it has been more of his own preference not to be apart of the WWE.

Ken Shamrock
It is possible that some fans today aren't even aware of the UFC Hall Of Famer's run in the WWE. Not sure if others would want to see it, but in the properly run UFC, this would never happen, but Ken Shamrock Vs Brock Lesner. Of course the risk of "ego" could have this match turn into a shoot, but if the two were to remain professional, they could possibly come up with some new moves that incorporate multiple MMA's styles into pro-wrestling's catch-as-catch-can form.

Kurt Angle
He's in TNA Wrestling and still going, but cannot mention the two names just mentioned without adding Olympic gold medalist, Kurt Angle to the mix. He's expressed that he would be willing once his contract is up. Whether Kurt is still in good condition (with TNA who knows) and can have another run or not. Whether it would be to face the "new" Brock Lesner or to simply take his place in the WWE Hall Of Fame.

Kevin Nash
He's had some appearance over the years since leaving TNA Wrestling, his initial Royal Rumble return a couple years ago was huge. Maybe not a full-time inring job, but I could see a "back to basics" and being a bodyguard of sorts for HBK types (endurance, speed, etc) like Dolph Ziggler if he goes back to heal. Or even in some type of training role. He may be limited in moves in some other peoples opinions, but none can deny Big Sexy's mic work, can't teach the "it" factor, but you can teach those who have it how to deliver it.
Apparently he doesn't care about being in the HOF but I think that is to ensure he's talked about as being the one who "never got in" long after he's gone. Nash, always thinking.

Owen Hart
Obviously we won't see the late wrestler perform again, but with the WWE Network long time as well as a whole new generation will get to see Owen and all of his greatness. Not sure of the details, but perhaps Owen's wife would be open to him being inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame. Not a single drop of pressure though, given the understandable circumstances. But, it is really nice to see that a new gen' will get to enjoy The King Of Hart's as much as we did and will again.

E.C.W.
A chant that has somewhat died off like the "what?" chant has, possibly "Yes!" and "No!" being to blame, but don't be surprised if you don't start to hear it once again with the ECW catalog, not just WWE's ECW, but the original E.C.F'n.W. library in all its blood and glory. Now there aren't many that the WWE would really bother since they didn't push that many in the past, but the ones that did make it in the WWE like RVD (who's there now kinda), Tazz (in TNA doing color), and Bully Ray aka Bubba Ray Dudley and his brother Devon (Bully is in TNA, not sure where Devon went. Retired?). Who all added to the WWE's success pre and post purchase of WCW. The WWE Network could lead to a small last ECW run, or at least small solo runs for some, Hall Of Fame inductions for others.

There is really an endless list, all depends on everyone's favorites and if anyone even bothers to make some noise about the stars of yesteryear, but with the new generation there is a chance that at least the current levels get increased and the WWE takes notice. It is interesting to wonder how things would have been during any of the past era's let alone the Monday Night Wars if we had he multiple forms of social media that we have today. Which superstar and moments would have been top "trends"? Head to head for top spot on Twitter or Facebooks "trending" list, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Goldberg. Degeneration-X and the n.W.o. Think about it. Pro-Wrestling dominated television during the "Wars", and has always been one of the leaders in PPV's. Imagine what it would've done to the social media outlets at those peak moments. A lot more #SuckIt #nWo4Life #WhoopAss #SOB and heavy flow of #HolyShi...you get it.

Could give ol' Stone Cold the extra push he needs to at least give us...one more match!

MISSING FROM THE WWE HALL OF FAME

Being more similar to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame than that of a professional sports Hall Of Fame, like that of baseball in good old Cooperstown. Things like politics, popularity, are amongst the things that are weighed in on during the selection process. Not exactly sure mind you, but all these things seem to be involved when looking at past inductions and the snubs that occur every year.

Here are a list of wrestlers, managers and celebrities that have yet to be inducted into what has become the illustrious WWE Hall Of Fame...

"Macho Man" Randy Savage
Similar to the Sting rumors and speculation that occurs this time of year, Macho Man's right up there with Hall Of Fame whispers. Reasons for why the late legend range from him wanting his family (The Poffo's) to all be inducted, similar to that of the Von Erich family, to the ever popular, Vince won't induct Savage because Randy had relations with Stephanie McMahon during his WWE tenure. With Macho Man having passed away and his brother and the McMahons staying tight lipped on the situation, we may never know why. As outlandish as the Stephanie thing may seem, the fact that Vince is well known for "sucking it up" in the name of business, it isn't so far fetched, however with how proud of a man that Randy was, the wanting the Poffo family to be inducted seems reasonable as well. Fans don't care, we just want it done. Ooooooooh Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Dig It!!

Owen Hart
I've read that it is the late wrestler's wife who has doesn't want this or anything to do with wrestling. Nobody can blame her with the way that Owen lost his life, the circumstances surrounding that situation. It could however be nice ending to all of this, allowing her and Owen's fans to fully move on. There is good news as the WWE Network will have Owen's WWE career on display, with of course Over The Edge being edited out of respect for the late wrestler and his family. Perhaps one day this induction will happen. Bret will do the honors of course.

Enhancement Wing
Up until the Monday Night Wars begun really, these wrestlers were not only key to developing and debuting talent, they were at times just as known as the people they were putting over. The Rock's catchphrase "Jabroni" sort of made them a pun, but let's not forget their importance in the past. Sean "X-Pac/Syxx/123 Kid" Waltman began or appeared to begin as one in the WWE. Don't forget names like "Iron Mike" Sharpe, or *pats self on the back* Barry Horowitz. Even the Hardys were an enhancement tag team before stepping up to non-Jabroni status.

Chris Benoit
Despite how great he was in that squared circle, the decision to not induct him makes complete and total sense with how things occurred. Which is sad, as again he was a great wrestler who had legendary matches with the likes of Jericho, Booker T, list goes on, but don't forget about his matches with Olympic gold medalist, Kurt Angle. If things were different, imagine the match(es) the late wrestler would have had with todays superstars in both WWE and TNA. Names like Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, etc. And we will be able to see past action involving Benoit on the upcoming WWE Network.

Scott Hall
Hey yo! Now it is possible, and likely that the WWE has been waiting for Razor Ramon to clean up and get healthy, and stay clean. Which from what I have seen has been the case with everyone's favorite, Bad Guy. It was speculated that Scott skipped out on being with Shawn Michaels for his induction, as to avoid any old demons knocking him of the wagon, but he appears to be doing well so it may just be a matter of time. If Wrestlemania takes place in Atlanta  again in the future, would love to see a "n.W.o" theme with Hall, Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman all going in.

Mr. T
I was surprised when I read that he wasn't already in, as I assumed he perhaps was inducted during the days when the HOF wasn't as big of a deal as it is today. He was, for most of us, the first celebrity to step between the ropes and be in the match. First in the main event of the innaugrial Wrestlemania teaming with Hulk Hogan, and then in a Boxing turned Wrestling match with the legendary Rowdy Roddy Piper. I heard this has been on his end by declining the induction, but I pity the fool who doesn't think he should be in there.

Tazz
If there was anybody who transitioned from ECW to WWE the best, it was Tazz. Some may say Rob Van Dam, but Taz was allowed to speak more, and was even able to extend his career behind the announce table. It may be due to his tenure at TNA obviously, but the moment he is off that sinker, it is time to have an ECW themed Hall Of Fame. It isn't as often as it used to, but there are still "ECW" chants at times. Tazz, Paul Heyman, The Dudleys (when Bully/Bubba Ray is done in TNA) and RVD (when he's finished wrestling) all deserve a spot. Any area would work, but Philly or New York would be quite the rowdy Hall Of Fame crowd to hear. The Human Suplex Machine deserves to make the HOF just another victim.

Eric Bischoff
Love him or hate him, Easy E' gave us a really good WCW for a long time. There may have been some old school fans at that time who didn't like things, but the ratings and money didn't translate that. Bischoff took WCW and went head to head with Vince McMahon and WWE, and was winning and almost put them out of business. This of course, turned into the WWE and the talent raising their games even higher for not just the comeback, but the purchasing of WCW. Some of the greatest moments in pro wrestling came from Eric Bischoff's WCW (Hogan and n.W.o., Goldberg and his streak, etc). He may have to be completly done with wrestling before this ever happens, but with past promoters and wrestlers have proven Vince will induct you if it is good for business. I think this would be. the case.

Vince Russo
I AM JOKING!!!! RELAX!!!! Laughter is good for the soul ahahahaha

Vince McMahon
He isn't a young man, even though he may outlive us all. However, in any case, it would be great to see Vinnie Mac break down and be genuinely humble, but more importantly, it would be great to see him thank all the wrestlers who sacrificed so much to help his company grow and dominate. It would be interesting to see who he would name drop in doing so. One would think 'Taker would be, given his loyalty through the "War". Austin for the money. His father was inducted in the 1996 Hall Of Fame ceremony.

Wrestling Families
I have read there is talks of the WWE inducting "matches". Which I am not quite sure is good, with some matches being great matches but then some matches were simply hyped up matches (ie Hulk/Andre at Mania III). Factions is a good way to continue on going, however, I think that perhaps they should look at inducting wrestling families first. We have the Von Erich Family in there, and numerous members from wrestling families in there, why not have that be a new "wing"? Families like the Hart's, Vochon's, Poffo's, Windham-Rotunda's, Armstrong's (Road Dogg's family), amongst others. The first induction really should be the Anoa'i-Maivia family, not only huge, but several current and future Hall Of Famers are amongst them.

Goldberg, Lex Luger, and a long list of others deserve a spot, and then there are those still in "the game" who it will become a matter of when, or "why not's" every year they don't. There is Sting, but he may be close to achieving this if reports are correct.

Stay Nerdy!

IT'S IN THE GENES

It may not always be genetics, but there is definitely a perk to being apart of a wrestling family. Since the end of the territory days, with the exception of Kerry Von Erich maybe, there hadn't really been a known to be next generation wrestler until The Rock in the late 90's being the WWE's first 3rd Generation Wrestler. Most but not were aware of the 2nd Generation stars like "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Bret "The Hitman" Hart amongst others.

The WWE currently has roughly 10+ next generation wrestlers working both the current main rosters as well as NXT. Some are part of their characters or announced every show like Cody Rhodes and Goldust being the 2nd Generation stars following in their legendary father, Dusty Rhodes footsteps. There is Curtis Axel (Joe Henning) who is currently following in The Rock's initial steps, using a combo of both his father (Rocky Johnson) and Grandfather (High Chief Peter Maivia) with Rocky Maivia. Then there is Roman Reigns of The Shield, who is in fact a third generation superstar in his own right being son of Afa (and is also brother of former WWE star Rosie, Super Hero In Training). Plus others, some of whom will be mentioned below.

Here are a list of some of the wrestling families, while I'll be sticking with the better known members, in most cases some of these bloodlines seem to produce nothing but wrestlers, who simply never made it to WWE, WCW or even TNA Wrestlings rosters over the years.

The Anoa'i/Maivia Family
Possibly the largest wrestling family there is, and a knack for giving us top performers over these years. Greats like High Chief Peter Maivia, Wild Samoans Afa and Sika, Yokozuna (yes non-hardcore fans he was actually Samoan), Rikishi (who's used many monikers), The Rock, Umaga, Rosie, and a bunch of others who've both made the top companies and haven't, yet wrestled elsewhere. Current stars from this family include Jimmy and Jey Uso (Rikishi's sons) and Leati Joseph Anoa'i better known as Roman Reigns.

The Hart Family
Canada's top or better known wrestling dynasties. With the Hart's every one of wrestler/promoter/trainer Stu Hart's sons wrestled and his each of his daughters married a wrestler. Best known would be Bret "The Hitman" Hart and his brother Owen Hart and their brother in-laws Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart and "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith (who is cousins with Dynamite Kid, who's ex-wife is Bret's ex-wifes sister). Of course there is a third generation with D.H. Smith (Harry Smith, son of Davey Boy Smith and Diana Hart), Teddy Hart (son of wrestler B.J. Annis and Georgia Hart, and Natalya Neidhart (Jim Neidhart and Ellie Hart) who recently married WWE star Tyson Kidd (TJ Wilson).

The Guerrero Family
They are Mexico's Dynasty to at least the mainstream media. Similar to the Hart Family, every one of Gory Guerrero's sons was a wrestler, even his wife, Herlinda Llanes came from a wrestling family. Best known is the late Eddie Guerrero and his wife current EXCUSE ME! star Vickie Guerrero. Also there's Hector Guerrero, Chavo Guerrero Sr (better known to current generation as Chavo Classic perhaps) and since I don't want to leave him out finally Mondo. Third generation star is Chavo Guerrero Jr who's been in WWE, WCW and TNA. Also there is Eddie and Vickie's daughter, Shaul Guerrero, working under the name Raquel Diaz on NXT. Guerrero Siempre!

The Windham-Rotunda Family
I was surprised by this at first, but then everything made sense. In this family it seems to be a case of genetics and upbringing. Wrestling legend Black Jack Mulligan (Robert Jack Mulligan) is the father of wrestling greats Barry Windham and Kendall Windham, but is also the step-father of another great, Mike Rotunda or I.R.S., Irwin R. Schyster. Rotunda is father of current WWE and NXT superstars, Windham Rotunda aka Bray Wyatt (he was known as Husky Harris during the "Nexus" days) and Bo Dallas (Taylor Rotunda).

The Poffo Family
Even though there isn't going to be a next generation star from this bloodline by the looks of it, they deserve mention, not just for level of greatness, but for the shock that I am sure I wasn't alone in feeling when I heard this bloodline. Angelo Poffo, Randy Poffo and Lanny Poffo. The late Angelo Poffo is the wrestling legend and father of the late and legendary "Macho Man" Randy Savage and his brother "The Genius". And of course we all know that Randy was once married (in real life) to the late Miss Elizabeth (Elizabeth Hulette). If never going to be an induction into WWE's Hall Of Fame, we would love to know the reason.

The Rhodes Family
"The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes (Virgil Runnels Jr.) is a legendary WWE Hall Of Famer, and is father of two future HOF inductees, Goldust/Dustin Rhodes (Dustin Runnels) and Cody Rhodes (Cody Runnels). Dustin really came into his own once he became Goldust, and is leading a small "Attitude Era" resurgence within the the WWE. And was of course once married to Marlena (Terri Runnels). Cody is so good he successfully "gimmicked" a protective mask and then a mustache. That takes skill. Also, Dusty Rhodes is the brother in-law of Nasty Boys member Jerry Sags (Jerome Saganovich) and Tugboat/Typhoon/Shockmaster (Fred Ottoman). Both of whom are also Cody's Uncle. Cody's Godfather is also wrestling great Magnum T.A. (Terry Allen).

The Flair Family
Perhaps Ric Flair was "too great" for his sons to succeed in wrestling. With David Flair, it could have been from being in WCW during the wrong era and/or not being in the WWE instead. With Naitch's other son, Reid Flair, it was a tragic case of a drug over-dose that is likely the cause for not getting to the level he was capable of reaching if not for his demons. There is a ray of light within the Flair Family (which is Fliehr in real life) with The Nature Boy's daughter Ashley Flair is on NXT using the name Charlotte (likely homage to Flair country Charlotte, NC) WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

The Von Erich Family
Possibly the most tragic stories of all the wrestling families and in a business loaded with it. Wrestling great Fritz Von Erich (Jack Adkisson) had 6 sons; Jack Jr, Kevin, David, Kerry, Mike and Chris. Jack Jr passed at the age of 6, but the other Von Erich sons all followed their father into the business of pro wrestling. Tragically, only Kevin Von Erich is still alive, with his brothers all meeting untimely deaths at young ages. Kerry Von Erich was best known to WWE fans as the Texas Tornado back in the 90's, where he actually wrestled on a prosthetic leg, but took his own life at the age of  . There is a ray of hope in the Von Erich clan, while Kerry's daughter Lacey Von Erich was at one time wrestling in TNA, and Kevin has two sons currently breaking out in the business. Perhaps one day we will see The Claw return to the main stage at the hand of a Von Erich..

The Henning Family
The wrestling great, Larry "The Axe" Henning is father to the late, legendary "Mr. Perfect" Curt Henning. And of course put the names together and you get current WWE third generation superstar, Curtis Axel (Joe Henning). Curt's daughter Amy is also a wrestler apparently. An almost "perfect" wrestling family. Pun obvious. Pun intended.

The DiBiase Family
"The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase Sr., was the son of Helen Nevins a female wrestler and her husband, his adoptive father, "Iron" Mike DiBiase. Tragically, Mike died from a heart attack during a match with "Mountain Man" Mike in July 1969. There is a thrid generation of DiBiase's in the wrestling business, with Ted DiBiase Jr having formerly been in WWE, and his two brothers Mike DiBiase II and Brett DiBiase although currently retired were also professional wrestlers.

The McMahon Family
We may not always like the product that they give us, or the desicions that they make at times, but we should all be thankful that this family has existed in professional wrestling. Beginning with boxing and wrestling promoter, Roderick McMahon. Followed by his son also a wrestling promoter, Vincent J. McMahon who gave us Vinnie Mac, Vince K. McMahon. Hard to put one label on Vince promoter, entrepreneur, wrestler list goes on. Even that applies to Vince and Linda's children, Shane McMahon who worked for the family company on all levels from office to ref to even wrestling as well, and same can be said for Stephanie McMahon-Levesque, who is married to WWE great Triple H (Paul Levesque) who is now doing what the McMahon's do behind the scenes also after a stellar and now part-time wrestling career.

The list of wrestling families is pretty extensive, with mine being the tip of a massive ice berg. Remember the little baby Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat brought with him during Wrestlmania IV? For those unaware, that was his son and even he's in the business right now

A few others from the endless list of other 2nd and 3rd generation stars are;
  • Jake "The Snake" Roberts
  • Wes Brisco
  • Tamina Snuka
  • Deuce (Jimmy Snuka Jr.)
