WWE's NEW ERA THUS FAR

Only one episode in with each brand, but the new era has begun. I wasn't too focused on draft picks as it didn't really matter given different styles was all that mattered. I did question some picks though, such as Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens being on the same show after their feud having already gone on for so long. Like many, although only just starting things I have an opinion, and of course I typed it out for you haha Here it is...

RAW
I like how there will be a new title, WWE Universal Championship, and not a rehatching of the old World Championship. Not that I dislike the World title, it is just that it is well known to be #2 to the WWE Championship. Now the World Heavyweight Championship and Universal Championship can be on par. Universal is technically bigger than World.
I am hoping perhaps Cesaro's "dislike" of being on RAW, was actually part of the storyline. A feud against The Authority could work in his favor. If it was a shoot, here's hoping he isn't "too right" about it being about Steph and Mick.
Having the WWE Women's Championship change hands on the opening show was good to see, and hoping it is a look into the future of the womens division is a major part of the show.
Unlike Ric Flair, I am overly happy that Finn Balor was put over by Roman Reigns. I am a fan of Balor, and think Reigns should be out of the title picture for a bit. I can't wait to see The Demon make its way into things.
Although I used to like the Cruiserweight division, I saw how it pigeon holed some guys into being "too small" for the top titles. But, if they perhaps pushed the fact that someone like Shawn Michaels could have fit into the weight class, it could make sure that doesn't happen. I must say that I don't like how they always promote the division with mainly high flying vignettes, as it isn't just high flying as we see in the WWE Cruiserweight Classic. Hopefully things go well when it debuts.

Smackdown! Live
With this show, I am taking mainly a wait and see approach. The initial brand extension had Smackdown! even with RAW, and at times surpassing it in some stories, and matches. So, the inaugural Smackdown! Live being good wasn't surprising. Even the WWE title going there wasn't shocking, as it was done the first time around.
Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan has seemed hyped about everything but the Smackdown! Live women's division. Sure, there was a match and then all the ladies came out, but nothing about the future. Is there going to be a new title? I pray that they don't bring back the Divas title, a new WWE Universal Womens Championship would be better. I am hoping it is simply a case of what happened on RAW, and things will be explained next episode.
Is Dean Ambrose about to set on a long run with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship? They say that there will be opportunity, but does that mean a lot of guys will get a title shot? And then will it be simply a shot or will the championship get "whorey" for awhile? Dolph is the new #1 contender, but that isn't something new. Ziggler has been on top before, and then reduced to simply being the overly good hand who can make anyone look better than they are. Is this the start of something, or again just a shot?
I like that Smackdown! Live is getting their own special events/ppv's, as at times it becomes clear as to which is Vince's preferred brand via main event (last match) in joint shows. Plus, keeping them separate allows for more stories from one brand. Which is always a matter of opinion, which feud one prefers, but that way we don't have to sit through something from say RAW when Smackdown! is why I am watching.

It is still too early to say how things will be of course. Especially since the rosters aren't "full" yet with some big names returning and some more NXT call-ups happening in the near future. I am curious as to how they will all fit, especially with Smackdown! Live still being a two-hour program. Of course, I am also already wondering how this affects the Royal Rumble haha

WWE BRAND EXTENSION 2.0

I enjoyed the early days of the initial brand extension. RAW was good, but Smackdown! was a bit better initially for me. Undertaker was the cornerstone, Rey Mysterio was exclusive, and many levels of stardom being reached by many performers. Top names like John Cena, Brock Lesner, Edge and Eddie Guerrero. But, also guys like Jamie Noble and even Matt Hardy's star shined a little brighter (I was a MFer back then haha). It really held its own, and really didn't feel like a taped show most times.
But, that was the early portion of the split. It slowly and simply outright obvious that RAW was their A-Show, and Smackdown! the B. If someone was really doing well on SD!, they were heading over to RAW at some point whether via the draft, a trade, or something. It made for some great moments and stories, like when Benoit won the Rumble and opted to go after the WWE World Championship on RAW at Wrestlemania XX. But, it general it only made Smackdown! fall further.
Even after the brand extension was dissolved, Smackdown! was almost viewed by the fans, as top WCW names looked at Thunder, a joke. It was pretty much a guarantee every episode of Smackdown! would consist of highlights from RAW, a minimum of four men in the ring as to inspire Teddy Long to make a tag-team match in some fashion. Sure, it was nice to see all the talent get on the show, as television is still television, but product wise it was just stagnant.

Here we are now in 2016 and about to enter another brand extension. This time around, both shows will be live every week. Evening the playing field. And they keep pushing that each show will have its own unique set of superstars. Which is making me wonder if we will see all the indy guys Triple H has brought in on one show, and Vince's "usual" on the other. Or if perhaps Smackdown! is possible another test for Triple H after the success of everything he has accomplished with both NXT and the performance center. Smackdown! going live just has me curious. After all this time, and clamoring about the cost to run a live show I am left wondering "why?".
Regardless of the why's, I am really looking forward to this. Other questions that come up are more about the products. The thriving Women's Division needs more room to showcase the superstars beyond the WWE Womens Championship and its holder. Will we see all the female talent on one show with more room, or will they be spread over both with the Champion bouncing back and forth. Title picture on one, while a separate story takes place on the other? If they stick to the current format of one story, it hasn't really changed beyond the title name. Too much talent sitting on the sidelines, and some ready to come up from NXT. Speaking of titles, it is safe to say that the WWE Intercontinental and WWE United States Championships will be separate. But, what of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and WWE Tag Team Championships? Will there be two separate titles like the initial brand extension? If they were to split them like before, this time however I wouldn't go WWE and World titles. I would perhaps go RAW World Champion and Smackdown! World Champion.
Splitting all of the titles would help avoid there appearing to be an A or B show, if perhaps more people on RAW are "over" than on Smackdown! or if it is almost blatantly obvious who will be winning the title match. But, this also opens the door to perhaps have John Cena on one, and Roman Reigns on the other and it is simply two live squash shows.
Another thing that was great in the early days of the initial brand extension was the General Managers. The days of Stephanie McMahon, Eric Bischoff, and Paul Heyman were entertaining and added to each shows quality. It became lame and clear that the Smackdown! GM was always the runner-up given they were running the B-Show. Will we see McMahon V McMahon? Shane V Stephanie? Or will we see someone new or someone like Bischoff return to the roll? Hoping it isn't something lame like the Anonymous or majority of the Celebrity Guest General Managers (some were good when you knew they were legit fans too).
And what of NXT? Rumors are simply rumors, but at times they turn out to be true. Rumor has NXT being split as well. This is something I am hoping won't happen. Having NXT be one show that is the "farm system" for both RAW and Smackdown! adds to the "surprise" when call-ups happen. Even if we know someone is being called up to the main rosters, we won't know which one for sure until it happens.

Guess we will find out most things come July 19th on the now live Smackdown!. Being Canadian I need to make sure that Smackdown! will be aired live every Tuesday, and not on Wednesday or something. In a perfect world RAW and Smackdown! would air on the WWE Network, but Vince makes way too much money from the shows to be doing that anytime soon, if ever.

FUTURE ENDEAVOR SAFE LIST

I made a list of Superstars who I think are possibly on the verge of WWE wishing them the best of luck in all their future endeavors (you can find that HERE ). But, there is also what I consider a "safe list". Superstars who are not likely to be released as part of an almost annual cleansing of the roster. Most are obvious, some are simply a matter of current situations, and if they are listed here or on the not safe list, then we shall consider them in "limbo" which are both safe and unsafe from unemployment...

John  Cena and Randy Orton
They might not be getting younger and are likely WWE 4-Life, but are also the two names with enough left in the tank and star power to boost another company. As well as like the next names listed, earned the right to retire in WWE.

Big Show, Kane, and Mark Henry
These are the Superstars who have earned the right to retire from the roster rather than be endeavored. So, no need to really explain further.

Women's Division
Unless it was to remove "weak links" I would be shocked given they are still in the midst of a Women's Division movement. Only Superstars I could see would be Alicia Fox, or even Emma. Yes, I know Eva Marie should be, but lets be honest.

Brock Lesner, Chris Jericho, and The Dudley Boyz
You don't endeavor part-timers. Especially these ones. You simply agree to not resign at this point in time. And the Dudley's aren't part-timing, but are there to help the younger stars, so I see a similar handling of them leaving.

Roman Reigns, Usos, AJ Styles, Anderson & Gallows
Reigns is THE guy, and everyone else is in the main event picture. Sooooo, assuming they are all safe. Most notably Reigns of course.

The Miz, Kalisto, and The New Day
Title holders aren't usually just "let go" for obvious reasons. It's almost always a title drop and then released haha The New Day is over with the WWE Universe, just brought in Maryse for The Miz, and Kalisto is "better" than Sin Cara given WWE's current lack of Mysterio haha

Seth Rollins
Self explanatory. Unless you're a hater of course. A lot awaiting his return, and was WWE World Heavyweight Champion before going down with an injury haha

That is who I think are completely safe from being future endeavored by WWE. Like I said there are those who I think aren't safe at all (HERE), and those who I am not sure. Stars like Del Rio, Sheamus, Ziggler, etc. Rumors are that it all will begin soon. Wait and see, as per usual.

POSSIBLY THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE EMPIRE OVER

Of course the title is referring to the Roman Empire that is lead by WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Roman Reigns. Although there appears to be change in the air, and we could see AJ Styles win the title this Sunday at WWE Payback. Or we could see Reigns turn heel appeasing many who feel it is his best route. But, history has shown us that ole Vinnie Mac is a stubborn man. Roman Reigns is THE guy, meaning both WWE World Heavyweight Champion, but also Vince's chosen one.

So, lets approach this with that mind set. Which leaves the question, how can WWE get Roman Reigns back over with the WWE Universe? Back, because people were behind him until it was overly obvious Vince was pulling the strings (promo delivery and wording, weak stories, etc). I can really only think of one way to possibly do this. And although some may think just a basic switch would do, they are forgetting that the point of this would be to get Roman over as a baby face. How would I do this? John Cena heel turn. But wait a minute, likely not in the way that you would like. Cena's heel turn would consist of only willingly joining The Authority and screwing Reigns out of the title. John's promos and playing to the youth would remain the same. He is already garnering heat with how he has done things the past few years, and is right in that fans would cheer if he turned thus negating the point.
John Cena's next World title ties him with The Nature Boy at sixteen. This alone would cause massive heat with the crowds already booing him. So, keep him the same but as THE guy for The Authority, and keep the title on him for a bit until fans would cheer for anyone who dethrones Cena. Enter Roman Reigns. If they don't root for him after that, then it would be time to give in and follow cousin Rock and turn heel. I honestly think that Seth Rollins will be returning to an ovation of cheers, similar to Triple H after his first quad injury. Rollins was WWE World Heavyweight Champion when he went down with an injury. Roman being the champ upon his return will garner more heat for Reigns. Rollins returning to Cena as champion would play into a heel Cena. They can even have Rollins fail at his attempt to recapture the gold. I wouldn't but this is about Roman remember. Seth fails, and maybe a Shield reunion with Reigns as the leader, and being the one to topple Cena.

I just can't see any other way to get Roman Reigns over as a face. If he is truly going to replace John Cena as the face of WWE, then perhaps Cena needs to be sacrificed so to speak to help Reigns. If they aren't willing to do this, then I really hope this "new direction" isn't a smoke screen or something. Guess we will find out soon. Until then my fellow wrestling nerds, Stay Nerdy!

WWE PAYBACK MATCHES & PREDICTIONS-UPDATED

Some things have been added to the card like the United States Championship match on the pre-show, and Baron Corbin against Dolph Ziggler. On RAW, Stephanie McMahon stated that Vince McMahon would be announcing who would be running Monday Night RAW. Although this is Sports Entertainment, can't see any reason to not have Shane be in charge, and perhaps this could spawn RAW and Smackdown! splitting. Anyways, back  to Payback and predictions...

WWE United States Championship
Ryback V Kalisto (C)
Prediction: Ryback new US Champ.
-Perhaps a Sin Cara heel turn. Ryback doesn't have much else going for him at the moment so why not? To be honest, this guy needs a manager or valet. Not Heyman, but someone else to do his talking and help him go full heel. This is why Vince shouldn't have let the art form die out.
Baron Corbin V Dolph Ziggler
Prediction: Corbin pins The Showoff 1-2-3.
-Dolph seems to be the guy who tests the new guys whom are of the heel nature after their run of squash matches are over. This will be Corbin's first real main roster feud, and Ziggler knows he can still look amazing taking a loss to a rookie. I must add I like the new red in Baron's entrance. They never got the camera angles right on the main shows with the blinding white light, so the red adds to the auro of his persona.

TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDERS MATCH
The Vaudevillains V Enzo & Cass
Prediction: The Vaudevillains win.
-I am huge on Enzo & Cass, as are many others, so they are too obvious as well as being an over face team, which is an issue with The New Day being over as well. I can see The Vaudevillains possibly getting stale (unless the gimmick evolves over time), but would be a good opposition to The New Day given the difference in gimmicks. And, I see the Dudley Boyz getting involved and beginning a war with Enzo & Cass. Possibly taking the new team to yet another level.

Kevin Owens V Sami Zayn
Prediction: Sami Zayn with the win.
-Sami has been on the receiving end too many time for this not to culminate with a victory over his long time friend and antagonist, Kevin Owens. Regardless to who wins this or the main event, good chance the next Number 1 contender comes from this bout. Why? Both are over, and this is going to possibly be Savage/Steamboat at Mania 3 good.

Chris Jericho V Dean Ambrose
Prediction: Dean Ambrose defeats Y2J
-No offense to Jericho, who is a future first ballot Hall Of Famer, but after the beating Dean took at Wrestlemania 32 at the hands of Brock Lesner he deserves a win here. Jericho can make him look even better in the process like he does. Why not pass the torch of "talk shows" while they're at it too, Dean's Ambrose Asylum has been pretty decent in its infancy.

WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Vaudevillains V The New Day (C)
Prediction: The Vaudevillains are new Tag Team Champions.
-Hard to pick given the height The New Day has reached in terms of being over, and The Vaudevillains are rookies with no real exposure on the main roster beyond their matches. So the shock value plays in here, and also shows a start of the supposed change happening.

WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The Miz (C) V Cesaro
Prediction: Cesaro as new IC Champion.
-The title doesn't make the superstar, the star makes the title. Time to see the Swiss Superman begin his ascension into the main event picture, starting by having a good run with the Intercontinental Championship. Plus, I am already bored with Maryse's return. I hate them mostly, but time for a battle with another couple. I am pretty sure the Cesaro Section agrees.

WWE WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP
Charlotte (C) w/Ric Flair V Natalya w/Bret Hart
Prediction: Natalya takes the title.
-Slightly bias being Canadian, but also although we're not looking for a direct Ric Flair clone, it would be interesting to see how Charlotte handles a loss. Naitch is a sixteen time World Champ, but that means he lost it that many times as well. Plus, Flair Country is on Hart Land haha

WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
AJ Styles V Roman Reigns (C)
Prediction: Roman retains.
-If you read my other posts, then you know this is a very hard one to predict fully. Even though I want AJ Styles to win, I don't see the Roman Empire's reign ending so quickly. Again. I have this gut feeling Anderson and Gallows are going to screw over AJ, add rumors of Finn Balor making his debut soon adds to that. The actions on RAW in London simply added to that feeling. Or maybe they try to help and the Usos get involved and start a war...adding Balor and Samoa Joe (not "Dynasty" but Samoan regardless, and respect has got to be there). Or does The Balor Club join or work for The Authority? Will Roman join Triple H and Stephanie now? Make for a good set-up for Rollins return, who is likely going to be turned face by fans upon his return. Was Champ and top guy in The Authority, coming back to Roman in his spot would make sense.
It is really hard to call as of late, and like DDP of old would say, that's a good thing. With Wrestlemania 32 I went perfect on the pre-show, and then got only the one I wanted to be wrong on correct. The new additions and proposed "change" has things highly unpredictable right now. It feels much better making guesses based more on likes and dislikes, instead of predictability in recent years.

UNPREDICTABLE PAYBACK

Unpredictable is used loosely in regards to WWE Payback, but is needed to describe things. Not focusing on the other matches (which you can find my predictions HERE), but solely on the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match. We are still a week away, which includes a RAW and Smackdown! before the special event that is WWE Payback and although a lot of things seem for sure, there are variables to make things not as they appear possibly. Bare with me though, as trying to explain all of the options might get wonky.

They are hinting at Anderson and Gallows helping AJ Styles defeat Roman Reigns. That, or it is a swerve? Either are possible, both are still unpredictable. If they help AJ, is it a Bullet Club (Balor Club) reunion sans Finn Balor? Are they face or heel? Face is obvious on fan reception, but what if say they were apart of The Authority who has been absent since Wrestlemania 32? It is the only way I see an AJ victory gaining any heat. What if they turn on Styles? Does Roman retain and move on, or does he turn heel and lead The Authority? Orrrrr, does Finn Balor make his borderline expected main roster debut and forms The Balor Club without AJ Styles? Or somehow we have AJ as both The Champ and Balor Club member? The only way I see Finn gaining heat in his debut, would be like AJ, and joining The Authority in the process or simply screwing Styles out of the title. Even then, who would be more over between Balor and Styles?
See what I mean about things being predictable, yet very not so at the same time? And how it doesn't make sense really based on my ability to clarify? haha And given the current direction of things, well what appears to be, we can't even guarantee Roman retains right now. Before AJ became the Number One Contender, there was unwavering certainty the Roman Empire would continue his run atop the mountain. As a face. Now, not sure of anything at all. I love that. Last week on RAW, Roman's "I'm THE Man" line had some sting behind it looking more like a heel, then a face with a doesn't care of opinions.

So, unless a lot changes via the next RAW and Smackdown! we are in a wait and see situation. Which we should technically always be, but then what would we have to read, write, and talk about? haha Until then fellow wrestling nerds, Stay Nerdy!

WWE NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS 2015-MATCHES & PREDICTIONS

Neville & The Lucha Dragons Vs Stardust & The Acsension
Prediction: Stardust & The Acsension win
-It will interesting to see how long this feud drags out. Stephen Amell is adding some wrestling workouts to get inshape...for a rematch? One-on-One with Stardust?

Rusev Vs Dolph Ziggler
Prediction: Rusev wins
-Hard to see where this is all going really. A Ziggler heel turn isn't that far fetched really. And it seems as though Lana and Rusev will reunite one day. So, perhaps Rusev wins and Ziggler turns heel by dumping Lana for Summer (who obviously dumps Rusev), starting a reunion storyline later on.

WWE Tag Team Championship
The Dudley Boys Vs The New Day (C)
Prediction: The New Day retain with help
-Can't see Devon and Bubba Ray losing, but can't see them winning the titles right off the bat. And maybe we'll see Spike make a return to balance out the playing field in a rematch.

The Wyatt Family Vs Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and ???
Prediction: Reigns, Ambrose, and ??? win
-Hard to pick really, not knowing the mystery partner is the reason. If it is someone who is "worthy' then they win, if it is a person who is a borderline "jobber" then Wyatt's should win with Braun Strowman destroying everyone.

WWE Intercontinental Championship
Kevin Owens Vs Ryback (C)
Prediction: Ryback retains
-Still too early for Owens to win gold, despite Ryback's weak mic skills (good memory, as it sounds like he's remembering a script at times).

WWE United States Championship
John Cena Vs Seth Rollins (C)
Prediction: John Cena wins via DQ
-If it doesn't happen immediately, it will happen later in the match. Someone will mention Seth saving himself for Sting.

WWE Divas Championship
Charlotte Vs Nikki Bella (C)
Prediction: Charlotte wins Divas title
-Nikki passed AJ Lee as longest reigning champion, now it is time to give it to someone else and begin to develop story lines beyond this 3-on-3-on-3.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Sting Vs Seth Rollins (C)
Prediction: Sting
-Usually wouldn't opt for the legend to win the top title, but this is Sting. Add the fact that many feel WCW guys got screwed over and held back when they went to WWE. Even if a one night only type deal, it would be nice to see. Rollins hissy fit will be quite the sight as well.

SUMMERSLAM 2015 MATCHES & PREDICTIONS

Cesaro Vs Kevin Owens
Prediction: Kevin Owens
-Hard to call really. But, with Owens coming off a loss in his rematch with Finn Balor for the NXT Championship and Cesaro only really getting over with his matches and not his promos, the obvious is KO with the win. Expect Cole to mention his loss at NXT often.

Stephen Amell & Neville Vs Stardust & King Barrett
Prediction: Amell & Neville
-Of all the previous celebs (minus Rousey) Stephen Amell is pretty athletic and agile. Will be interesting to see just how well he does in the ring for a match. Unless looking to extend this feud, look for Arrow to hit the mark.

WWE Tag Team Championship
Los Matadors Vs Lucha Dragons Vs The New Day Vs The Prime Time Players (C)
Prediction: The New Day
-The titles seem to change often, so why not go with The New Day given they really are working well as heels, despite being not what most expected.

WWE Intercontinental Championship
The Miz Vs Big Show Vs Ryback (C)
Prediction: Ryback
-This match was to take place awhile ago, but Ryback is finally back, and likely to retain. Otherwise, why didn't they strip him of the title, to at least add some "drama" to the mix.

Rusev Vs Dolph Ziggler
Prediction: Dolph Ziggler
-Perhaps we will see Rusev begin to treat Summer the same way he treated Lana. However, can't help but see a swerve where Lana turns on Ziggler and reclaims her spot from Summer as Rusev's woman.

Randy Orton Vs Sheamus
Prediction: Randy Orton
-Why not? This feud has felt a bit stale.

Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose Vs Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper
Prediction: Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper
-Three options come to mind for the finish. First, Erick Rowan returns and The Wyatt Family is whole again. Second, Dean Ambrose turns on Roman Reigns, leading to a feud. And lastly, Roman Reigns finally turns heel and turns on Ambrose.

Team P.C.B. Vs Team B.A.D. Vs Team Bella
Prediction: Team P.C.B.
-This revolution has been great, but it is time for the trios to split. Here's hoping for some face and heel turns during and after this match.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship/WWE United States Championship
John Cena (C-US) Vs Seth Rollins (C-WHC)
Prediction: John Cena
-This was really hard to choose. Cena would then tie Ric Flair at 16 time World Heavyweight Champion. Which is more of a Mania moment, until you think of Cena passing Naitch and doing so on a Wrestlemania stage. Plus, it is time for Rollins to go a new direction win or loss.

Brock Lesner Vs Undertaker
Prediction: Undertaker
-Another one with a hard to determine outcome. Sure, Taker deserves the win, but there are other things that could lead to some feuds with perhaps Kane, or...Sting?

WWE BATTLEGROUND MATCHES & PREDICTIONS

Sunday, July 19th, 2015 WWE brings us WWE Battleground. A decently booked card, with outcomes difficult to get a full read on. Which is both frustrating, and very refreshing given WWE's habit of predictability at times. Here are the matches and NGN's predictions...

R-Truth V King Barrett
Prediction: King Barrett
-Truth has been entertaining, but I'm afraid I've got some bad news (couldn't resist). Truth is likely not getting a WWE push of any kind. So, best for someone who has a shot at getting a push to win this one. Not a knock on R-Truth, it is just that much like Santino Marella, Truth can "go" in the ring and has more character range than WWE allows audiences to see.

Randy Orton V Sheamus
Prediction: Randy Orton
-It is kind of a "been there, done that" type of feud. Orton coming back, after Sheamus took him out can only be squashed with an Orton win. If this feud continues on, hopefully it will be with the Money In The Bank briefcase on the line. With Orton taking Sheamus out of the picture.

Roman Reigns V Bray Wyatt
Prediction: Roman Reigns
-Bray always seems willing to put over others and does it well. And WWE still wants to make Roman Reigns the top dog, so his winning wouldn't be surprising. Depends how long WWE wants to drag out the creepy storyline involving Reigns family.

WWE Tag Team Championships
The New Day V The Prime Time Players (C)
Prediction: The Prime Time Players
-It was hard to pick a winner. The tag team titles have been bouncing around a lot, but it would be nice to see them be retained a bit longer this time via The Prime Time Players. If The New Day Does win, it may be possible it is due to their ranks shockingly growing by one.

(this next match isn't happening due to an injury to Ryback, whether they still proceed with The Miz V Big Show remains to be seen, but here's the prediction regardless)
  WWE Intercontinental Championship
The Miz V Big Show V Ryback (C)
Prediction: The Miz
-Ryback seems over with the crowds, however, can never tell most times when WWE is filling the airwaves with "fake" cheers. Personally, The Big Guy is a tad stale already, and should have been built up to facing Big Show one-on-one for the Intercontinental title. Having to go through series with guys like Mark Henry before facing Show for the strap. Went with The Miz as his lack of physicality leading into this seems to trigger the "dark horse" vibe.

WWE United States Championship
Kevin Owens V John Cena (C)
Predictions: John Cena
-Wishful thinking surprisingly. The John Cena Open Challenge for the WWE United States Championship each week has been impressive, why end that now? To possibly help Owens maintain "status" have a returning Sami Zayn do a run in "failing" after KO is able to continue on, followed by a successful run in by Cesaro. Which leads to a feud between the two given Cesaro's recent performance. If he can maintain this run, he faces Cena for the title successfully down the road.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Brock Lesner V Seth Rollins (C)
Prediction: Brock Lesner
-This one was truly hard to pick. Seth Rollins is a great champion, but his current is starting to feel stale. Sure, a storyline change could fix that. But, another title run by Brock Lesner could be a new spin on a repeat of last year. If anything, it leaves the door open for two things; Sheamus getting squashed in a cash-in attempt and a reformation of The S.H.I.E.L.D. There is also room for Sting to thwart any Authority involvement, thus leading into a long build-up to something at Summerslam.

WWE MONEY IN THE BANK-PREDICTIONS

Forgot to do this for the "Elimination Chamber" special event (yes, it is only "ppv" when you order it that way). So, best to get on this for this years "Money In The Bank" special event. Here are Non-Geeky Nerd's predictions...

R-Truth VS King Barrett
Prediction: King Barrett with the win.
-Truth has been very entertaining, but mostly on a comedic level. And well, we've seen what happens to the "class clown" in WWE.

WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Big Show VS Ryback (C)
Prediction: The Big Guy beats The Giant.
-Don't see Ryback's feud with Bray Wyatt being fully finished yet. And would make much more sense for him to also drop the belt to Wyatt instead of Show. So, look for Bray to make an appearance at some point possibly.

Kevin Owens VS John Cena
Prediction: John Cena evens the series.
-Hard to really call. Owens is "in" with Triple H. But, John Cena has been making the US title "worth something". His open challenges have made for some really good matches. Showing both that up and comers have what it takes to belong on the main roster, and that John Cena CAN wrestle. So, why stop now? Being beat back to back would halt that.

WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Prime Time Players VS The New Day (C)
Prediction: The New Day retains.
-It may not be what we all expected, but The New Day is making things work in their favor. And the tag titles have been switching hands too much.

WWE DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP
Paige VS Nikki Bella (C)
Prediction: Nikki Bella wins.
-This one is hard to call also. If Nikki has surpassed AJ Lee for longest reign then Paige will win. If not, then look for Nikki to retain despite a failed "twin magic", and holds on until she sets a new record.

MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH
Roman Reigns VS Dolph Ziggler VS Sheamus VS Kane VS Neville VS Randy Orton VS Kofi Kingston
Prediction: Roman Reigns captures the contract/briefcase.
-Picking a winner was slightly hard to do, but figured WWE isn't done trying to push Reigns into a title run. Even though Kane winning actually makes sense given current situation, and of course Dolph Ziggler deserving another run. One thing is for sure, Neville and Kofi will likely do something to steal the show.

WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP-LADDER MATCH
Dean Ambrose VS Seth Rollins (C)
Prediction: Seth Rollins retains.
-Went with Rollins retaining the gold as either the problems amongst The Authority is a swerve, or Brock Lesner will get involved. Or both. Thinking that The Authority will get involved, Ambrose will over come them, only for Lesner to come out and attack Rollins. Which would mean once again that Dean would earn the "win" but not the title.

WWE PAYBACK 2015-MATCHES & PREDICTIONS

The Meta Powers VS The Ascension
Prediction: The Meta Powers win. Too early for The Meta Powers to explode...yes, just went there...brother!....Dig It!!

Neville VS King Barrett
Prediction: King Barrett with the "W". Neville is amazing, but losing right out the gate would almost "tarnish" the crown. Unless they are looking to prolong this feud, in which case Neville is due to even up a possible series.

Tamina & Naomi VS The Bella Twins
Prediction: Tamina & Naomi beat Bellas. It was hard to pick a winner. The Bellas are the "faces" and the good guys...girls are "supposed to" win, but Naomi is filling the void left by AJ Lee quite nicely, and Tamina is fresh off a return from a lengthy injury.

Sheamus VS Dolph Ziggler
Prediction: Sheamus "wins". Was going for Dolph, but it is possible he gets himself DQ'd, and then makes Sheamus kiss his arse. Payback.

Bray Wyatt VS Ryback
Prediction: Bray Wyatt defeats Ryback. He might have "lost" to the Undertaker at Wrestlemania 31, but Wyatt "won" in his defeat. Ergo, deserves a win over Ryback.

WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS (2-Out-Of-3 Falls)
Kidd & Cesaro VS The New Day (C)
Prediction: The New Day retains. They are working better now that they are in "heel mode", and would like to see The New Day continue on as champs. Plus, another title change would make the tag titles almost tarnished in a sense (a non-PG word is a better fit, think about it).

WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP ("I Quit" Match)
Rusev VS John Cena (C)
Prediction: John Cena retains title. If Rusev wins, it would be by using the audio he used on Smackdown! of Cena saying, "I Quit!". However, Lana is due to break free and we could see her using audio of Rusev, followed by Lana also saying, "I Quit!".

WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Randy Orton VS Dean Ambrose
VS Roman Reigns VS Seth Rollins (C)
Prediction: Seth Rollins retains title or No Decision. Apologies for not picking just one, but with the upcoming WWE Network exclusive "Elimination Chamber" happening just 2 weeks later, makes it hard to pick one. Will Rollins retain and defend it in the chamber? Or will something happen that requires all of these competitors to have a rematch in the chamber? Adding the stipulation of Kane's future makes it extra difficult. Does he save his job, or does he attempt to "quit by force" and is the extra man in the Elimination Chamber? God, I love wrestling.

WWE EXTREME RULES MATCHES & PREDICTIONS

The pay-per-view/special event that follows Wrestlemania (this year it is "Extreme Rules") is where old feuds come to a conclusion, new feuds are explored, and is also the first step on the "Road To Summerslam". Doesn't have the same ring to it, but none the less, WWE is beginning to plant the seeds to their second biggest event, Summerslam. Here is a list of matches and their NGN predicted outcomes...

WWE Tag Team Championship
The New Day Vs Tyson Kidd & Cesaro (C)
Prediction: Tyson Kidd & Cesaro retain the titles. Unless, WWE is looking to build off of the fans distaste of The New Day.

KISS ME ARSE MATCH
Dolph Ziggler Vs Sheamus
Prediction:Sheamus wins. WWE isn't going to "humble" Sheamus, but it would be nice to see Dolph somehow thwart the kissing of Irish arse tonight.

WWE Divas Championship
Naomi Vs Nikki Bella (C)
Prediction: Nikki Bella retains title. Naomi is "filling in" for the newly "retired" AJ Lee, so it is hard to see them putting the title on her so quickly.

CHICAGO STREET FIGHT
Dean Ambrose Vs Luke Harper
Prediction: Dean Ambrose with the win. Wrestlemania 31 saw Harper put Ambrose through a ladder, it is only fair that he be the one to take the dirty bump and the loss.

LAST MAN STANDING MATCH
Roman Reigns Vs Big Show
Prediction: Roman Reigns wins. WWE is still trying to "force" the push instead of just letting it play out. So naturally one is almost safe to assume they will have Show "do the honors".

RUSSIAN CHAIN MATCH
WWE United States Championship
Rusev Vs John Cena (C)
Prediction: John Cena retains. It might be possible to see Lana "lose" this one, and then cause a slight split between her and Rusev. If anything, a win keeps Cena away from going for #16.

WWE Intercontinental Championship
Bad News Barrett Vs Daniel Bryan (C)

Prediction: Bad News Barrett is new IC Champ. Daniel Bryan's health has been an issue again, and for the "sake of the title" perhaps best for someone else to carry it. Prediction may be Barrett, but the hope lays with a healthy Daniel Bryan retaining.

STEEL CAGE MATCH-RKO IS BANNED
WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Randy Orton Vs Seth Rollins
Prediction: Seth Rollins retains. The question to how he retains is tricky. Will Orton get caught delivering a RKO? Will Kane be involved? If so, will he attempt to cost Rollins the title and fail, or out right screw over Randy Orton?

Like stated before, now is when WWE begins to build their vision for Summerslam. Brock Lesner is still out on "suspension", will he return to cause havoc? Sting will most likely appear again in WWE and at Summerslam, will Extreme Rules be where he begins the story? And lets not forget someone who is missing from the card, Bray Wyatt. Will he reveal who he was talking about, and take action against them? Word has it that he has been referring to Ryback. Will things begin between them tonight at Extreme Rules? So many questions, and almost always a pleasure when they are answered.

TIME FOR REIGNS TO COOK

I know, the title is somewhat of a "wtf", but let me explain. Let's turn back the clock to the 1990's. WWE (as we all know, then known as WWF), had third generation wrestler, who had "it". They didn't know what his "it" was, but regardless, he had "it". WWE hyped him up, showcasing his lineage. He comes from one of sports entertainments biggest family dynasties. Then came out Rocky Maivia. Crazy hair, and a giant smile. Athletic as hell, but his look and WWE's "push" wasn't being bought by the fans. They had him win titles, and be "put over" by some of the best. It just wasn't working. Fans chanted, "Rocky Sucks!", even going as far as chanting, "Die, Rocky, Die!". A change was needed. Luckily, things did change because as we all have seen, it clearly had the "it" that they were talking about. That change came via the glorious, and at times poorly used, "heel turn". From the ashes of the failed Rocky Maivia rose The Rock. Through this turn, he was able to fire back at the crowds, and find "himself". The Rock of course is apparently Dwayne Johnson with the volume jacked up.

Did any of that sound familiar? The first half of what was stated above, it almost exactly what is happening with Roman Reigns. Fans began to reject him when he was getting a push a tad early (perhaps). He is even from the same family, that WWE has been using to try and hype Reigns. Many might disagree with this, especially since it has often been "over-used" or poorly done, but a heel turn might be what Roman Reigns needs. To find himself perhaps, at least as a character. Some might even say that mimicking The Rock would be the wrong way to go. Look at what WCW tried to do with Booker T aka The Book. If Booker wasn't a Hall Of Fame caliber performer, he would have been forever remembered as a "Rock knock-off". He found "himself", but it did help establish him a bit with some fans.
With Roman, it would be both similar and completely different. Yes, he would be making a heel turn like The Rock. Perhaps even using The Rock to make his turn. However, he wouldn't be continuing on as the next Rock, he would still be Roman Reigns. He wouldn't begin to mimic his cousin on the mic or in the ring. He would simply be given a chance to "find himself" without fans burying him due to a WWE push. The Rock found himself firing back, perhaps that is what Reigns needs to finally build his Roman Empire. Or to finish off the title of this article, so that we can smell what he is cooking.

Again, some probably disagree. Either with the approach or to even consider changing Reigns. Understandably, as we are all entitled to our opinions. Yes, he started on the main roster as a heel, but The Shield got over, went face, and only Rollins broke away as a heel. At least this is something other that a feud with Big Show...again. Roman Reigns versus Big Show was used before in an attempt to get Roman over with the audiences as he approached his Wrestlemania main event with Brock Lesner.

WRESTLEMANIA 31 MATCHES AND PREDICTIONS

It's that time of year again. Time for all of us "marks" to look at the card for Wrestlemania and give our predictions. It is said almost every year, but the card for Wrestlemania 31 is stacked. From Undertaker returning to face Bray Wyatt, to Brock Lesner defending against Roman Reigns. Even the midcard titles have a main event feel to them. Oh, and then there will be that moment when Sting will finally be in a match for the WWE. At Wrestlemania. Many may want him to face Undertaker, but Triple H is going to bring the best out of the Icon, similar to how Ric Flair used to.

WWE Tag Team Championship Fatal-4-Way
The Usos VS New Day VS Los Matadors VS Cearo & Tyson Kidd (C)
Prediction: The Usos.
-Their father Rikishi in the Hall Of Fame the night before. And with a growing division, better to have an established team be at the top.

Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal
Big Show, Kane, Mark Henry,  Jack Swagger, Goldust, Viktor, Konnor, Ryback, The Miz, Damian Mizdow, Titus O'Neil, Darren Young, Fandango, Curtis Axel, Sin Cara, Zack Ryder, Adam Rose, Erick Rowan, Heath Slater, and more yet to be named.
Prediction: Sheamus
-Rather him make his return here, than attacking Daniel Bryan later. Plus, as we saw with Cesaro last year, winning this doesn't translate into anything.

Seth Rollins VS Randy Orton
Prediction: Randy Orton.
-This match could steal the show. And Rollins losing somewhat adds to the possibility of him trying to "cash in" later on. Of course, that is if Orton doesn't annihilate him in route to his win.

Bray Wyatt VS The Undertaker
Prediction: The Undertaker
-Bray Wyatt doesn't have to be "put over" in order to look amazing. Savage lost to Steamboat remember. And could lead to possibly a prolonged feud with Undertaker. Where he can "put over" Bray. If we are lucky of course.

AJ Lee & Paige VS The Bella's
Predicition: AJ Lee & Paige
-Rumors have The Bella's taking a break. And then we can have the "fallout" between AJ and Paige.

United States Championship
John Cena VS Rusev (C)
Prediction: John Cena
-Unless we would be seeing the beginnings of a future "heel turn" by Cena, there is no reason for him not to win. He's already lost to Rusev, and who else would there be to shut down the Russian?

Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match
Dolph Ziggler VS Daniel Bryan VS R-Truth VS Dean Ambrose VS Luke Harper VS Stardust VS Bad News Barret (C)
 Prediction: Daniel Bryan
-Dirt sheets have Sheamus screwing over Daniel Bryan. Hopefully not. Plus, is there any other way to keep the crowd happy? Wrestlemania could have a lot of people wanting/demanding a repeat of last year. Could ease the pressure on Reigns later.

Triple H VS Sting
Prediction:Triple H
-Sting winning was the obvious answer, until Ric Flair mentioned how Triple H has lost 3 matches going into this on the WWE Network. And then Sting has also looked in great shape (even with the t-shirt on). Sting losing could lead to a feud. Meaning more of the Icon on WWE programming.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Roman Reigns VS Brock Lesner (C)
Prediction: Brock Lesner
-This one is even harder to pick a winner with Brock Lesner re-signing with WWE. Reigns is good, but lets face it. Possibly "too soon". And when have fans ever accepted the new "chosen one"? Stone Cold, The Rock, John Cena all had slower builds, and look how their careers turned out. Also, Brock winning makes for a perfect time for Seth Rollins to cash in his Money In The Bank briefcase. Reigns weakens The Beast, and Rollins strikes from behind.  Or we see Reigns win and have to wait and see how the crowd reacts. Although that would also make for a near perfect time for Rollins.

We find out how everything will play out during the 4-hour spectacular on Sunday, March 29th, 2015. Again, this card is as stacked as it can get. Sting and Undertaker (thanks to photos across the net) look great and ready to go. And most importantly, there isn't even a gimmicky match to draw people (ie Maywether, Lawrence Taylor, etc).

BROCK RE-SIGNING IMPROVES MAIN EVENT

It is being reported that Brock Lesner has opted to stick around the squared circle, as opposed to returning to the octagon. Vince McMahon convinced to Brock to re-sign with WWE, after a lengthy and at times very heated negotiation period. Some will love this decision, while the rest will be against it., but either way the main event of Wrestlemania has instantly improved.

How so? Well, most would agree that having very little to no knowledge of the outcomes makes Wrestlemania that much better. If Brock Lesner had opted to return to mixed martial arts via the UFC, it would almost guarantee that Roman Reigns would be the winner and new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Almost, because this is still professional wrestling, and Lesner is still a literal beast. Now that he has decided to stay with WWE, the outcome of the Wrestlemania 31 main event is even less predictable. Sure, the safe bet would be for Roman Reigns become champion and have his first run as the face of the company. However, who's to say Brock doesn't retain. Rumors being rumors, say highly possible we see Brock Vs The Rock at Wrestlemania 32. Why not have that be for that WWE World Heavyweight Championship? Other rumors state that WWE is looking to put more focus on the mid card titles (US and IC). The reasoning for having Daniel Bryan and John Cena competing for them at Wrestlemania 31. With Lesner's part-time schedules, it allows for that to truly happen. Even a possible "cash in" by MITB briefcase holder, Seth Rollins, unpredictable. Not as to if he will try and cash in, as that is due to happen, but whether of not Seth successfully cashes in.

Another match that has improved due to changes, is Undertaker Vs Bray Wyatt. No streak, means less worry of ramifications of Wyatt being put over by The Phenom. With less that a week until Wrestlemania 31, we will soon see how all of this goes. The card is stacked like never before, can't wait to see it all unfold.

WWE NEEDS MORE THAN THEY WANT BROCK LESNER TO RE-SIGN

The rumor mill has been stating this, and the more one thinks about it, it is more than a rumor. Word around the net is that WWE is pushing for Brock Lesner to re-sign with the company now instead of later. Later being after Wrestlemania 31. Although WWE likely "wants" Lesner to remain on the roster, naturally so as he is a money making attraction now. It is also one of the reason that they "need" him to stay. Other career opportunities, hesitation, or simply age has the number of "attraction" level stars pretty low. The Rock has Hollywood, Stone Cold is waiting for the right moment, Undertaker is still here but people have been wondering for a few years now if we were seeing the last of the Deadman (only for him to return and shut mouths showing he still has it).

Another reason WWE "needs" Brock Lesner to re-sign with the company is possibly not wanting a repeat of Wrestlemania 20. It was when both Brock and Goldberg were making their exits from the company and it made for a pretty weak match. With a lot of people not looking forward to this match as it is, that added possibility of making it even less worthy of being the main event, will rile them up pretty good. And let's face it, even more so now than then, Brock isn't going to do anything that he doesn't want to do. Then there is that small fact. What if Brock doesn't re-sign and doesn't want to drop the belt? Of course, lawsuits and what not basically eliminate that from happening, but there is that sliver of possibility. Brock is human after all, and lets face it, history has shown us humans can make the wrong choices in life.

Like with most things in life, we'll have to wait and see how all of this plays out. We could see an amazing match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesner.  Everything could work out in WWE's favor on all fronts. One thing is for sure, word will get out as to whether of not Brock is staying, and hopefully the Wrestlemania crowd doesn't "ruin" the match with a possible negative reaction to him leaving.

DANIEL BRYAN. CAREER IN JEOPARDY?

Perhaps a very misleading headline, as it isn't so much Daniel Bryan's career that is in jeopardy, as it is his status within the WWE. Based on fan reaction, he should be a main event personality for years to come. Based on some choices by WWE? Midcard player. One could even call this "Jericho-syndrome" or "RVD-syndrome" as it isn't the first time we have seen wrestlers more over with fans than the people Vince chooses to push into the spotlight.

With the late "Macho Man" Randy Savage being inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame this year, it is nice to see some spotlight on the Intercontinental title, which really only started to truly "matter" when Savage and Steamboat stole the show at Wrestlemania III for the strap. However, Daniel Bryan hasn't been given the things that others (including Triple H) would have gotten. Example, his return from injury had little to no hype or build-up. Roman Reigns was out for a much shorter period and had a slight build to his return. There is also the fact that he has yet to receive a title shot despite being WWE World Heavyweight Champion and only relinquishing his title due to the injury to his neck. And some may say how John Cena is fighting for the other midcard title, the United States Championship, but Cena needs a break from the main event before he ties with Naitch. Yes, for those unaware, John Cena is one World title away from tying with Ric Flair at 16 World title reigns. Here's hoping that win comes with a heel turn, as there is a very good chance it will be met with a deafening chorus of boo's. Back to Daniel Bryan, like mentioned before this is not the first time we've seen this in the WWE. Chris Jericho may have gone on to win World titles as well as being the first WWE Undisputed Champion, but that was after quite a few years of being in WWE despite being well over both as a face and a heel. RVD was similar to this as well, although it is hard to truly include him after failing a screening after winning the WWE and ECW titles. Although his reasons were quite valid, it likely soured him in the eyes of Vince and company. However, like with Jericho, there was a lengthy amount of time before they finally put the strap on Mr. Monday Night. Which makes some wonder, is it because these guys were already established stars before entering the WWE? Or is there something else that causes Vince to be seemingly hesitant on putting greats like this in the forefront?

The final reason for assuming Daniel Bryan may have dropped status wise, is that most others would have meaningful storyline's going into Wrestlemania. Daniel seems to be "stumbling" into this Ladder match where the focus was really on Dean Ambrose and Bad News Barret. The opportunity was there to provide him with one. Simply having somebody "screw" him out of his title shot during his match with Roman Reigns, would have set the stage and not have hindered Reigns in any way if Bryan openly admits Reigns deserves his shot. Insert handshake to let us fans know. Avoid rolling eyes.

WRESTLEMANIA 31 LOOKING GOOD...ON PAPER

With what is looking to be a weak main event, Wrestlemania 31 is actually a pretty stacked card so far. But, only in appearance really. With what seems to be set in stone, and with what is appearing very likely, we will try and break each match down. There are the obvious good points, but we'll point out what is wrong with them as well.

Randy Orton Vs Seth Rollins
-Sure, we love Randy Orton, but we love him in full heel mode. Not the weak heel like he was in The Authority, and even though we initially welcome him back as a face, it doesn't last. Other than that, this match looks and likely will be pretty good. Rollins and Orton both are capable of having a Savage/Steamboat-esque match.

 Sting Vs Triple H
-What's amazing about this is we finally have Sting in a WWE ring, in a match, at Wrestlemania. Then things begin to slightly go down hill. Slightly. Triple H is no slouch, and has shown with Undertaker that he can go to another level. But, Sting may need someone to help elevate his game given his age. Sure, Sting can go but not in a style that really works for Triple H. Unless they go the street fight route, which really wouldn't work for Sting, really. Chris Jericho, perhaps a better choice given how well he has worked with legends in the past. Guess we will see.

Undertaker Vs Bray Wyatt
-This isn't even "set in stone", but one would have to assume its a go given the events of Fastlane (Bray came out in a casket, druids and all). Which is great, however, what type of condition is Undertaker in? He was hurt after his match with Brock Lesner, and although Brock and Bray's styles are completly different, Bray still has a high impact style. Can Undertaker withstand this? Wait, it's Taker, he wouldn't be doing this if he didn't think he could make this work. Let's move on before someone chirps about how the streak should've been on the line for this one...

Roman Reigns Vs Brock Lesner
WWE World Heavyweight Championship
-Maybe. Maybe, Roman Reigns will surprise us all and will pull this one off. Maybe not though, and we will see a rehashing of Brock Lesner Vs Goldberg, but in the main event. The styles in this match dictate it could end up that way. Here's hoping we are proven wrong, or that a certain briefcase gets cashed in quickly after.

There are some other things that look likely to happen, like another match between Goldust and Stardust. The Usos will likely be looking to reclaim their tag titles, the question will be how as the tag division has been growing as of late. Or John Cena? Where is he heading in all of this after losing to Rusev? And of course, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, and a cast of others. One thing that could happen is another Daniel Bryan Vs Sheamus match. Which nobody really wants to see again. Right?
